Agriculture is vital to Tanzania’s economy, employing about 65% of the population
and contributing 27% to the national GDP. However, the sector struggles with issues
like soil degradation and reduced productivity, partly due to heavy reliance on
chemical fertilizers. While effective in the short term, chemical fertilizers harm soil
health over time.
