Policy Brief 1-2026: Budget Performance and Implementation Gaps in the 2026/27 Agriculture Budget
Agriculture contributes approximately 24.6% Of Tanzania’s GDP and remains central to employtnent and rural livelihoods. However, the Sector faces persistent structural challenges, including climate variability, land degradation, declining soil fertility, and limited access to sustainable agricultural technologies. Agroforestry is a strategic response embedded in the National Agroforestry Strategy (2024—2031). It enhances soil fertility, restores degraded landscapes, strengthens climate resilience, and diversifies rural incomes through integrated tree—crop—livestock Systems. Effective implementation of agroforestry depends on how it is reflected in public financing frameworks. Budget allocations determine the scale, continuity, and institutional sustainability of investments in seedling systems, extension services, research, farmer adoption, and coordination mechanisms. CSP organization profile
CSP is registered under NGOs Act with reg No 00NGO/00010158. The adjustments and amendments made to the organization was also a way to respond to high demand and need from the community following several challenges relating to protection of vulnerable groups including youth, women, children, disabled and elderly at community level in Tanzania. Through that members are convinced that the organization would best serve the purposes and that CSP will have a very strong base for building a better future and facilitating a welfare and social-economic development of the marginalized communities and individuals in Tanzania.

CSP 2025 Annual Report final
The 2025 Annual Report highlights CSP’s progress in implementing its strategic priorities through impactful programs such as the Legal Service Clinic, which enhanced access to justice for over 11,400 individuals; the ASILI-B program, promoting sustainable agroforestry and influencing over TZS 457.04 million in district budget allocations; and the USAID Afya Yangu Mama na Mtoto project, which improved maternal and child health services in Mbulu District. CSP’s work is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), contributing to poverty eradication, gender equality, and sustainable livelihoods. This report provides an overview of key achievements, challenges, and areas for further improvement to strengthen CSP’s mission and long-term impact.

Resource Mobilization Plan (RMP) 2026 –2030 presents a high-level, integrated framework for identifying, securing, and stewarding diverse resources in alignment with CSP’s mission and Strategic plan 2026-2030 priorities. These priorities include Sustainable Agriculture and Resilience, Community Health and Wellbeing, Youth and Women Empowerment, Organizational Sustainability.
CSP Strategic Plan for 2026-2030
The CSP Strategic Plan for 2026–2030 presents a transformative framework to strengthen the resilience, well-being, and empowerment of vulnerable communities across Tanzania. Building on lessons from the 2022–2025 SP, this strategic plan responds to emerging socio-economic, political, and environmental challenges, including climate change, limited civic space, and systemic inequalities affecting women, youth, and marginalized groups. CSP’s mission to prevent, manage, and overcome situations that adversely affect people’s welfare underpins this SP, integrating human rights, sustainable livelihoods, health, and institutional strengthening for lasting impact.

The first semester of 2025 marked a period of active implementation, visibility, and donor engagement for CSP. This report highlights the major projects, activities, and outputs delivered between January and March 2025, aligning with CSP’s mission to strengthen social protection and community resilience.

The 2025 Annual Vi Agroforestry Symposium, held from 23rd to 25th November at the Musoma Agricultural Training Centre (ATC), served as a dynamic platform for advancing conversations around regenerative agriculture, agroforestry technologies, biodiversity restoration, sustainable food systems, and rural economic transformation in Tanzania. This year’s symposium was intentionally expanded to deepen cross-sector collaboration and generate actionable strategies that align with both national policy directions and global sustainability standards.
