World Environment Day 2026: CSP and VI Agroforestry Lead Tree-Planting Initiative in Manyara

Celebrating World Environment Day in Manyara Region

In celebration of World Environment Day 2026, Civic Social Protection Foundation (CSP), in partnership with VI Agroforestry, organized a tree-planting and environmental awareness event at Himiti Secondary School in Manyara Region, Tanzania.

The event brought together students, government officials, and environmental stakeholders to promote environmental conservation, climate action, and sustainable land use practices.

Tree Planting Initiative: 1,200 Trees for a Greener Tanzania

A major highlight of the event was the planting of 1,200 trees across several locations, including:

  • Himiti Secondary School
  • FT Sumaye Secondary School
  • Malangi Primary School
  • Malangi Health Centre

This initiative contributes to reforestation, biodiversity conservation, and efforts to combat climate change in Tanzania.

Students actively participated in an essay competition and dialogue under the theme:
“Agroforestry is the Fastest Way to Green Tanzania.”

The discussions highlighted how agroforestry practices can:

  • Improve food security and nutrition
  • Boost local economies
  • Restore soil fertility
  • Enhance environmental sustainability

Supporting Schools and Environmental Awareness

To encourage participation and promote cleanliness, CSP and VI Agroforestry donated:

  • Dustbins
  • Certificates
  • Exercise books

These contributions aim to strengthen environmental education and inspire students to take part in sustainable practices.

Building a Sustainable and Green Tanzania

CSP and VI Agroforestry continue to lead initiatives that empower communities and promote sustainable development. The World Environment Day 2026 celebration serves as a powerful reminder that collective action is key to achieving a greener future.

Together, we are growing a greener and more sustainable Tanzania.
