Driving Sustainable Agriculture: CSP and Vi Agroforestry at Nane Nane 2026 and 11th National Agroforestry symposium
CSP partner with Vi Agroforestry Participate in Nane Nane 2026 and Host Key Agroforestry Stakeholders’ Meeting Nane Nane is a major national agricultural celebration in Tanzania, observed annually from 1st to 8th August. During this period, farmers showcase crops, livestock, and innovative agricultural technologies. The event also serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, where stakeholders provide education on improved farming practices, agroforestry, and environmental conservation. Additionally, it brings together various actors in the agriculture sector to discuss policies, market opportunities, and investment prospects. As Tanzania prepares to mark the annual Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition, the Civic Social Protection Foundation (CSP), in collaboration with Vi Agroforestry and other agricultural stakeholders, is set to actively participate in this year’s celebrations. The organizations will be present throughout the exhibition from 1st to 9th August 2026, engaging with farmers, policymakers, development partners, and the general public to promote sustainable agriculture and agroforestry practices. Their participation aims to enhance awareness, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to national efforts toward building resilient and sustainable food systems. Side Event: Agroforestry Stakeholders’ Meeting As part of the Nane Nane activities, CSP, in collaboration with Vi Agroforestry and all ASILI-B CC Programme partners in Tanzania, will host a special Agroforestry Stakeholders’ Meeting on: Date: Thursday, 6th August 2026 Venue: Nane Nane Exhibition Grounds – Nzuguni, Dodoma Time: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The meeting aims to bring together key stakeholders in the agroforestry and agriculture sectors to achieve the following objectives: Present and discuss key findings from the 2026/27 Budget Analysis for the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (MNRT). The session will also provide an opportunity for government representatives to clarify priorities and explore avenues for strengthening collaboration in advancing Tanzania’s agroforestry sector. Introduce the Tanzania Agroforestry Stakeholders Platform (TASP) by outlining its purpose, governance structure, roles, and membership arrangements. Stakeholders will be invited to express interest in joining the platform ahead of its official launch. Mobilize stakeholders for the 11th National Agroforestry Conference, encouraging active participation in national discussions on sector coordination, youth engagement, policy harmonization, and green investment. The meeting will convene a wide range of participants, including stakeholders working in agroforestry, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, organic farming, indigenous seed systems, food and nutrition security, agricultural research, policy development, and government leadership.
